OFFICERS RAID THREE HOUSES, FIND MARIJUANA GROWING LAB
Neighbors near West Fifth Avenue and Adams Street in Eugene had a rude
awakening Thursday morning when police detonated three flash-bang
grenades and repeatedly announced their arrival over a loud speaker.
Between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., the Eugene police Rapid Deployment Unit,
with help from the Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Metro SWAT
and Portland police, served search warrants on three houses in the
area - two on West Fifth and one on Adams.
Officers were looking for evidence of a marijuana growing operation,
Eugene police spokeswoman Kerry Delf said.
According to Delf, officers found "clear evidence" of a grow lab,
although the exact number of plants or amount of marijuana was not
released Thursday afternoon.
Officers detained four people found inside the homes. Tam Jericho
Davage, 35, and Marcella Anne Monroe, 41, were cited for unlawful
manufacture of a controlled substance. They were released at the scene.
A 29-year-old man was cited and released for possessing less than an
ounce of marijuana. Another person was released without any charges.
The case remained under investigation.
