WE MUST SET LIMITS

The Editor:

Re: 'We created 'riff-raff' in the first place' by letter writer Alan
Randell (Times, Oct 15).

The Websters dictionary defines the word "jerk" as a foolish or naive person.

Randell writes that it is the right of any adult to ingest any drug and
prostitute themselves whenever and wherever they feel. I couldn't agree
more. This is their right to do so , however, we as a democracy have
decided that the 2 are against the law. If you choose to use illegal drugs
and prostitute yourself in the confines of your own living room, I say go
ahead, but if anyone thinks they are going to do it on my front steps they
better give their head a shake.

It's these liberal ideas that have brought society down to this point. When
people abuse theirs rights toward an illegal fashion and it infringes on
the legal rights of the general population, those rights are negated.

It's that simple. Also to say that the laws preventing people from illegal
activity is the reason why they do it is absolutely absurd.

Randell obviously feels sorry for these people and so do I, but giving them
the right to shoot up and and sell themselves is harmful to them and us.
