READERS CONTINUE MARIJUANA DEBATE

It is a fact that many who are suffering diseases such as HIV, AIDS,
arthritis, etc., are afraid to apply for the health card making it legal
for them to possess marijuana because they do not want the feds knocking
down their door.

It is a fact that a state-regulated distribution would give those afflicted
a legal means to purchase marijuana.

It is a fact that there are persons serving time, whose only offense was
possession or simply internal possession of marijuana.

It is a fact that any "private place" or "office" would have to first
approve of someone smoking marijuana in or on the property.

It is a fact that someone, in their home, should not have to face legal
ramifications if caught smoking or possessing marijuana in their own home,
unless they are dealing, of course. Even then, it is the person (adult)
buying the pot making a decision for themselves.

Yes, three ounces is quite a bit of marijuana. Yes, driving while under the
influence is not acceptable. No, we cannot have minors smoking pot. Outside
of that, Nevadans can think responsibly for ourselves, we do not need the
government to make decisions for us. Now that's a fact!
