SKINDRUD HAS DISTINGUISHED RECORD
Of Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature, Rep. Rick Skindrud has
distinguished himself by his willingness to support legalizing the medical
use of marijuana.
Skindrud used his chairmanship of the Assembly State Affairs committee to
hold an informational hearing on medical marijuana in April 2001, that
resulted in legislators getting to hear from a patient who has found
medical marijuana an essential medicine, along with supportive testimony
from the Wisconsin Nurses Association and others. Skindrud was the sole
Republican cosponsor of a bill that would have made medical cannabis
available for sick and dying Wisconsinites.
Skindrud has shown he can work on a bipartisan basis, a rare quality among
GOP lawmakers. As a committee chair he has the clout to make things happen.
Skindrud has the experience and skills that make a good legislator, and he
deserves reelection.
