DRUG TESTS FOR ALL

Oakville, Ont. -- Re Manitoba School Plans Drug Testing (on-line edition,
Nov. 1): I hope the principal from Garden Valley Collegiate, who is testing
athletes for drug use, and wants to expand it to all students, also
includes himself, teachers, staff, and school board in the testing regime.
After all, kids learn the behaviour somewhere, I think the first place they
ought to look is their teachers.

If it's okay to infringe on the rights of privacy of young people, just
because they are institutionalized educationally, it has to be okay to do
the same to the teachers. If it has to be done, do it from top to bottom.
