FAILED STRATEGY
I'm writing about "Drug use among young increases; smoking declines"
(Tribune, Sept. 6). For the past 32 years we have been waging a war on
drugs which has risen in costs by a whopping 29,500 percent and the net
result is that drug use is rising among our youth. Tobacco use among our
youth is declining without any wars waged nor citizens sent to prison for
using or selling it. Just truthful education. Any lessons here? Except that
prohibition doesn't work?
