RARIFIED OTTAWA AIR AFFECTS MPS' THINKING ON DRUGS

I've got news for Canadian Alliance MPs Randy White and James Moore: One of
the reasons Larry Campbell and COPE were elected in Vancouver was precisely
because they promised safe injection sites (MPs challenge plan for drug
sites, Nov. 19). COPE was very clear about its intentions. Perhaps the
Alliance members spend too much time in Ottawa. It was difficult for anyone
in Vancouver to miss the headline proclaiming COPE's promise to put an
injection site in Kerrisdale, if necessary.

Messrs. Moore and White should stay in Ottawa and keep going to their
committee meetings. That way, they'll be out of our way and we can get some
real work done about the drug situation in Vancouver.
