KSP RETIREE GETS 10 YEARS ON DRUG CHARGES
BOWLING GREEN -- A retired Kentucky State Police narcotics detective was
sentenced Friday to more than 10 years in prison for producing and
trafficking in marijuana and methamphetamine.
Benjamin Dwan Hadley, 53, of Columbia, had reached an agreement and pleaded
guilty in July to the federal charges. U.S. District Judge Thomas B.
Russell also sentenced Hadley to five years supervised probation following
his prison sentence of 10 years and one month.
In July 2001, Kentucky State Police and federal Drug Enforcement
Administration agents raided Hadley's farm in Adair County and discovered
nearly 1,000 marijuana plants and evidence of an indoor growing operation.
They also discovered materials and equipment used to make methamphetamine
at the southern Kentucky farm.
