MARIJUANA VOTES
As often as not, I must say democracy sucks.
Last week's voting of the marijuana reform initiatives were defeated in two
highly publicized ballots.
I'm sorry for the patients with arthritis and inflammation who need this
medicine. No thanks to drug czar John Walters scaring voters in Nevada.
Question Nine was defeated despite heroic efforts of the Marijuana Initiative.
Although they're dominated by strong Republicans and a pack of bald-faced
lies, four in ten voters are ready to end prohibition on marijuana. A Time
Magazine poll prompted by the Marijuana Initiative campaign showed that 72
percent oppose jailing responsible marijuana users.
