GOVERNMENT REGULATED VERSION OF MORALITY
The writer of the Nov. 14 letter to the editor "Revenue from 'gutter' will
diminish state" is correct: Someone needs to outline the potential revenue
from legalized marijuana, prostitution, horse racing and casinos.
Then we could use this immoral revenue to help our schools, reopen state
parks that were closed last year for lack of money, and tap other potential
tourist and business revenue.
When these interests are easy to find or can be enjoyed legally by taking a
30-minute drive, it makes no sense not to enjoy the revenue from them
ourselves.
The only cowardice and ignorance here are in the people who look for
government to regulate their version of morality.
