NON-SMOKERS ARE GOING TOO FAR
To the Editor:
I just read a letter to the editor from Debbie Rose (Nov. 12 Edson Leader)
on the no smoking ban and I would like to say, on behalf of the smokers,
that people take this no smoking to extremes as they do most things.
As far as second hand smoke goes, I am not saying it does not harm people
but the percentage of the people that die from it is like one per cent and
how I know this is that I am a cancer survivor and I have read up a lot on
this smoking thing.
They say drinking, drugs, shootings and natural causes are higher then
people dying from cancer due to smoking or second-hand smoke.
Once they get this smoking thing delt with what will they move on to next?
People should be more concerned about getting the drugs off the streets and
out of the schools before they worry themselves sick about smoking in
public resturants.
