NARCOTICS TASK FORCE SAYS THANKS

Dear Editor: I would like to thank Mr. Pete Schmitz for his recent letter to
the editor recognizing and supporting the efforts of the West/sAlabama
Narcotics Task Force.

The Task Force is a metro unit located at the Tuscaloosa Police Department
consisting of officers and deputies from the Tuscaloosa Police Department,
the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Department, the Northport Police Department
and the University of Alabama Department of Public Safety.

The combination of all the resources of this effort to suppress narcotics
trafficking and related activities helps to make the task force more
efficient.

Many of the cases investigated by the task force are initiated by the patrol
divisions of each agency.

The cooperation between these law enforcement agencies and the citizens of
our community have helped to establish the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force
as one of the most successful and productive drug task forces in the state
of Alabama.
