GIVE HIM A CHANCE

The local bar association has requested that Judge Gilbert resign.

I am a member of the local bar association and I do not agree. Judge
Gilbert has entered a rehabilitation program.

If he successfully completes that program and is able to resume his
duties, he should be given the chance to show that he can competently
perform his job. Taking a hard look at one's behavior and making
changes should be encouraged. Judge Gilbert had the character to
apologize and take action.

If Judge Gilbert overcomes this challenge I congratulate him. I am
confident that he will.
