BIBLE FOR BONGS

As a Christian, I am uncomfortable with government confronting Bernie
Ellis ("Marijuana Martyr," April 26) for cannabis-related issues.

The God-given plant cannabis should be re-legalized. One argument that
doesn't get mentioned is that it is biblically correct: Christ God Our
Father (The Ecologician) indicates He created all the seed-bearing
plants-saying they are all good-on literally the very first page. The
only Biblical restriction placed on cannabis is that it is to be
accepted with thankfulness (Timothy 4:1-5) and, "But whoever has the
world's goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart
against him, how does the love of God abide in him?" (John 3:17).
