DRUG POLICY GOING TO POT
Editor, Naples Daily News:
Does it make sense to you that while cocaine use is on the rise in
Southwest Florida, and methamphetimine use is rapidly spreading
eastward across the country, that we continue to focus our enforcement
efforts on marijuana?
Rand just released another study showing that marijuana is not a
gateway drug and that our current policies are distracting from more
important problems, such as hard drugs.
Considering the success that Western Europe has had, and considering
the international trend towards the separation of marijuana from the
hard drug market, I would think Americans would be demanding a change
in our failed drug policy.
