DRUGS OVER DONUTS
This is regarding Charles Turnquist's letter, "A weak argument," on Nov. 16.
If we are going to punish people for the harm that they potentially do to
themselves, then let's start by arresting and jailing consumers of high-fat
foods like cheeseburgers, french fries and doughnuts.
A lot more people die from cancer and heart disease than from recreational
drugs. It's common knowledge that cancer, heart disease and many other
diseases are caused by poor diets.
Our government cannot protect us from ourselves and has no business trying
to do so.
