MANAGER REPORTS BEING ROBBED, TIED UP AT FUN WORLD
Worker Arrested After Drugs Allegedly Found In Vehicle
TOWN OF BROOKFIELD -- A Fun World manager who told police the business had
been robbed at gunpoint Sunday by a man who tied him up and took his car
was freed on a $5,000 signature bond Monday after officers reported finding
marijuana in his vehicle and arrested him.
Tony Hong, 24, Brown Deer, was charged with possession with intent to
deliver marijuana after he told police the 274 grams of marijuana stashed
underneath the driver's seat of his vehicle were his, Town of Brookfield
police Capt. Chris Perket said.
Hong called 911 to report the robbery at the 620 Elizabeth Court business
at 10:34 p.m. Sunday. He told officers he was able to untie himself to make
the call, Perket said.
Hong told police after securing the business for the night, he was sitting
in his vehicle warming it up when a man in a ski mask asked for directions.
Since it was a cold night, he did not think the mask was unusual, Perket said.
Hong told investigators the masked man displayed a black-colored handgun,
forced Hong back inside, made him open the safe and took an undisclosed
amount of cash before fleeing in Hong's car, Perket said.
Officers searched the vehicle after finding it in the parking lot of Eble
Park Ice Arena, 19400 W. Bluemound Road. The drugs were packaged in 36
individual plastic bags weighing between six and eight grams each, the
criminal complaint filed in Waukesha County Circuit Court stated.
The 274 grams is approximately 9.7 ounces.
Hong told police the robber was about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium
build and wore dark clothing, Perket said.
The robbery case is under investigation, he said.
Hong told officers he had bought a half pound of marijuana for $500 and was
planning on splitting the drugs with his friends, the criminal complaint
stated.
He made an initial court appearance Monday and a preliminary hearing was
set for Feb. 6 in the drug case, according to court records.
