HERE'S WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT: HARM REDUCTION FOR DRUG ADDICTS
I'm responding to a letter published in Tuesday's Province about
harm-reduction strategies for recovering drug addicts.
While I don't disagree with the reader's points on harm reduction, I
disagree with his comparison of drug addicts to other people suffering from
illnesses who must pay for their own supplies just to live, "not to enjoy
themselves."
One cannot say a person addicted to drugs is injecting themselves to have
"fun."
If there was ever a statement made out of ignorance, this is it. As an
addict in recovery for more than 10 years, I know addiction is anything but
fun.
