PLEA BARGAIN UNREASONABLE

Editor, the News-Sentinel:

It is beyond belief to me that Vicki Renee Johnson will serve no time and
has no culpability for running down a policeman after clearly stating she
smoked marijuana and took a Xanax before walking into The Pub and drinking
who knows what. Did she not do those things?

Who forced her to smoke an illegal substance, take an addictive drug on top
of it, and then who dragged her off the street into the bar and forced her
to drink till she couldn't see straight? Who sat behind the wheel in that
condition and drove under three different influences?

Johnson exercised what is called free will - the same free will that we all
use every day to choose right from wrong. Attorneys who attempt to remove
all the blame from their clients are doing a big disservice to our
community. Johnson is being taught that she can do anything illegal she
wants to, then find an attorney to get her off. Does this reflect the
beliefs of our society?

Cases like this help condition the thinking of our youth and our society in
general. Johnson should be made to pay criminally and civilly.
