FRANK MELTON MUST CONTINUE TO LEAD
The selection of Frank Melton as director of the Bureau of Narcotics is a
realistic approach to a very serious drug problem.
The naysayers and opposition are making hollow statements as though they
are true.
Name the Mississippian who saw the street violence associated with the drug
trade who went into his own pocket and paid for billboards to identify drug
dealers.
Mr. Melton is dedicated and committed to helping young people.
It was Frank Melton who rented a bus took and took several young people to
Texas to show them a better world.
This trip was funded by Mr. Melton, who has been doing more than talking
about the problem. He's been addressing the problem.
America is hooked on illegal drugs and now some are saying he's not
qualified to administer a Mississippi government agency at which, by law,
you don't have to be a sworn law enforcement officer.
I personally admire the fact that in spite of all of Mr. Melton's money, he
feels compelled to serve an ungrateful state.
I look for a lot of racist code words to be used, but I say: Continue to lead.
