SEMO DRUG TASK FORCE MAY NEED A NEW SPONSOR
CHARLESTON - The SEMO Drug Task Force may be looking for a new sponsor
soon.
County Clerk Junior DeLay recommended during Thursday's regular county
commission meeting that this be the last year Mississippi County act
as the pass-through agent for the task force's $375,000 in federal
funds.
"It just inflates our budget, increases our work," DeLay said. The
inflated budget increases the county's liability premiums, he
explained. Presiding Commissioner Jim Blumenberg said this is the
county's eighth year acting as sponsor for the SEMO Drug Task Force.
