MARIJUANA'S MEDICAL USE OVERSTATED
I have quietly read all these outsiders, sometimes unconcerned about our
youth, who write letters to the editor concerning the legalization of
marijuana. Their letters send the wrong message to children.
I see more and more young patients whose lives are being disrupted and
destroyed by drugs. As a physician, like many physicians I have talked to,
I feel that, all in all, this substance may have some very limited use in
conditions such as glaucoma but only under controlled circumstances and
with a doctor's prescription.
However, as a drug itself, marijuana's serious adverse health consequences
far outweigh its limited benefits to society. No good comes of it.
