PRO-POT ART STUDENT HAS HER FACTS FUZZY
Re: School fired up over 'pot' pottery
As a teacher, I fully support Louise Moran's decision not to accept a
pro-marijuana sculpture and a clay bong from a student. No teacher should
be asked to support a criminal enterprise like the production or use of
drug paraphernalia.
Emily McIntrye displays her ill-informed opinion when she states, "We've
decriminalized pot so I don't see how it could be a problem." Perhaps if
health and physical education classes were compulsory for students beyond
Grade 9, not only would we have teens who were healthier, but we would have
17-year-olds who were better informed about the legalities and risks of
substance use.
