ART IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

Re: School fired up over `pot' pottery

Perhaps in this day and age of ever-growing censorship, the people at
Northern Secondary School, like Louise Moran, should draft a list. Upon this
list they should categorize all things that shall be deemed as art. Any and
all objects not on the list should be considered illegal, immoral
contraband, subject to immediate destruction. While she's at it, there are a
great many books that people of her bent do not consider "literature." So,
these books could be used as the tinder she uses to flame her "legitimate"
clay arts.

There are also certain perspectives of thought she might wish to make
illegal, as well. Perhaps, according to her, I should be imprisoned for my
lobbying to have cannabis removed from the Criminal Code. Let's lock up all
the anti-gun and pro-choice people, as well. Let's just lock up everyone who
doesn't agree with the Morans of the world.

I think the people of this country have had enough. But what I believe
they've had enough of is this environment of ignorance perpetrated by our
so-called "educators." How many students over the years has she seen make
ashtrays for cigarettes? I think this art teacher needs to be instructed in
the usage of art for shock effect. Millions of people could perceive a
well-crafted water pipe as art.
