MAN SHOT IN HOME INVASION

A man is in serious condition in hospital after he was shot in the
head during a home invasion last night at what Toronto police say was
a marijuana grow-op.

The victim was shot just before midnight after three men wearing
balaclava masks broke into a house on Dean Park Rd., near Sheppard
Ave. E. and Meadowvale Rd.

The bandits assaulted four occupants, tied them up and then shot one
in the head before fleeing with some unidentified items, said Toronto
police Det. Don Pyke.

The victims managed to free themselves and drove the shooting victim
to a nearby ambulance centre on Sheppard Ave. E.

In the course of their investigation, police discovered a
marijuana-growing operation in the home, said Pyke.

The victims, who are believed to be in their early 20s, are being
interviewed by police.
