OUTLAW TOBACCO
If the anti-smoking lobby and the Winnipeg Sun cared about smoking,
they would help the public form opinions on the prohibition of tobacco
products.
Prohibition works, as proven by Stats Canada: 100,000
Canadians use marijuana daily, compared to the 5-6
million who smoke tobacco.
Why is it OK for society to sell this product when it is known to be
so harmful? Smoking bans are a poor solution to the problem.
Smoking is far more addictive than heroin. A typical heroin user might
use the drug twice a day where a smoker might smoke 25 cigarettes.
It's not easy to quit, given the addictive nature of nicotine, but if
its availability was limited, the consumption would be reduced.
The right thing to do is not always easy, but it can be
done.
