WAGING WAR ON AMERICANS IS FBI'S TOP PRIORITY
Prosecuting Ed Rosenthal is just another fine example of our tax dollars
hard at work ["Medical marijuana rights go on trial," Regional, Jan. 22].
Instead of monitoring terrorists, gathering intelligence on U.S. enemies,
etc, to prevent events like 9/11 from occurring, the FBI finds waging war
on its own citizens to be a top priority, i.e., the drug war.
Suspected terrorists getting pilots' licenses in the United States go
unnoticed. Pharmaceutical, alcohol and tobacco companies supply drugs that
kill thousands every year; but supplying a terminal or cancer patient with
legal medical cannabis, which has never killed anyone, will send you to
prison for years.
California voters passed Proposition 215 in 1996. The federal government
has no jurisdiction over such matters. Why is it that we allow elected
officials to ignore the will of the people? When the lawmakers become
lawbreakers, it breeds contempt for the law.
