MELLOW OUT ON POT LAWS

Today, a large percentage of British Columbia's economy revolves around
marijuana and marijuana products. If Canada were to legalize marijuana
(also known as cannabis, hemp, grass or ganja) our economy would benefit
and pot would no longer be looked at as an illegal drug but a medicinal
herb and a natural resource.

Unlike alcohol and hard drugs, marijuana makes people mellow. Legalization
could have positive effects as long as people don't abuse the laws.

Cannabis provides effective relief to those suffering from anorexia,
cancer, AIDS, stress, PMS, and depression without physical addiction.

Marijuana was recorded in ancient Chinese writings and was described
vividly by Greeks. If many years ago medicinal healing of THC
(tetra-hydra-cannibanol) was used, why not use it now?

Not only are the buds medicinal, but the rest of the plant can be used for
hemp. Millions of people every year spend money on clothes, hats jewelry,
food, drinks, paper and even hand lotion made from hemp. If marijuana/hemp
users were to be given certain laws to follow, had designated smoking areas
and bought products from registered growers and distributors, our
government could grow and tax marijuana and hemp. This would bring in
millions of dollars to the government and our economy, instead of bringing
money to illegal marijuana growers who are making profit for themselves.

In comparison to alcohol and hard drugs, marijuana is less harmful. Alcohol
causes violence and encourages murders, robberies and child/woman abuse.
Hard drugs have deadly chemicals which an deteriorate the spine or brain,
cause overdoses or cause usually normal people to become paranoid and
"tweaked." Marijuana causes people to relax, calm down and unwind into a
mellow euphoria.

If marijuana were legalized crime rates would go down, the economy would go
up and British Columbia would truly be where business grows.
