LETTERS REGARDING MEDICAL MARIJUANA TASK FORCE

Iam acquainted with several members of the task force, and I would hardly
describe them as "ragtag." They include serious policy experts as well as
people suffering from conditions for which state law now permits the use of
medicinal marijuana. Those who face serious medical issues do not deserve
to be called "patients" in quotes, as though they were not really ill but
faking.

Further, the task force's doctor did not quit because he had lost faith in
the task force, as your editorial implied; instead, he took a new position
in another city just two months ago, after serving on the task force for a
year and a half.

Moreover, the guidelines do not permit specific dosage amounts for
individual conditions; rather, that is left up to each patient's doctor.
