LETTERS REGARDING MEDICAL MARIJUANA TASK FORCE

The editorial really straightened out the facts concerning the task force's
recommendations. About ten years ago Solana Beach set the example for
cities regarding smoking in public places. That City Council considered the
health of all its residents when it passed the first anti-smoking ordinance
in San Diego County.

At the time, it was a very brave thing to do, to take a stand against the
tobacco industry. Let us hope that the San Diego City Council will be as
brave when it comes time to take a stand against the "legalization of
marijuana" forces, working under the guise of the task force.
