JUDGE MAKES NO RULING IN MARIJUANA CASE
Sarnia, Ont. -- Marijuana-possession convictions are being put on the back
burner by judges in Sarnia.
Last month, Justice Douglas Phillips dismissed charges against a
16-year-old, citing a previous decision rendering federal laws against
marijuana invalid. Ottawa is appealing that ruling.
Yesterday, provincial court Justice Deborah Austin refused to convict Scott
Fournier on a charge of marijuana possession.
