GIVE PATIENTS RIGHT TO RELIEF OF MARIJUANA

Medical marijuana has been shown time and time again to help seriously
ill people get relief. Prosecuting them and threatening them with jail
time is barbaric ("Legal pot for very ill gets lift," Nov. 21).

I am glad to see that so many Michiganders agree with me and have
signed the petition to put medical marijuana on the ballot next year.
People with serious diseases should not be thrown in jail for
following their doctor's advice, and I am confident that Michigan will
overwhelmingly vote to protect patients if given the chance in 2008.
