STATES' RIGHTS
To the editor:
I agree with Steve Sebelius' recent column regarding the plight of the
people growing marijuana for sick people. However, perhaps the state of
California should take the lead in not only reversing the convictions of
those found guilty of doing so, but in the growing of the crop.
That way, it will force a showdown between a state entity and the federal
government. This could lead to better definition of states' rights vs.
federal rights and allow each state and its citizens to exercise their
right in determining what is best for themselves.
