EYES IN THE SKY
RE "Eyes in the sky spot pot" (May 12): So the Orwellian police state
(where our every move is monitored by a malevolent government bent on
controlling absolutely every little thing we do) is now at hand. Soon,
if we are not careful, we will all be completely powerless to do
anything without Big Brother's permission. But at least we'll be safe
from the most medically versatile plant known to man! Thank God for
THAT!
Or, maybe this is just more police hype. Even if they can see every
pot plant on the continent, they would need ten times as many officers
to catch them all. How much would that cost, and is it really worth
it?
With prohibition costing more every year, and the problems only
getting worse, why bother with this Star Trek nonsense? Why not spend
the satellite time and effort on real crimes? Because it was never
about marijuana, it was always about control.
