POLICE TO TRACK DRUGS
POLICE nationwide have laucned a database to track batches of ecstasy
tablets as they are distributed.
The database lists up to 1000 logos, shapes and chemical compositions of
seized drug tablets.
Victorian Deputy Commissioner Peter Nancarrow said the database would
replace the ad hoc system between States.
Victoria Police, the Victorian Forensic Science Centre and Australian
Federal Police developed the database over more than 10 years.
