RALLY BACKS MEDICINAL USE OF MARIJUANA

Two dozen people rallied yesterday outside the federal office building that
houses the Drug Enforcement Administration as part of a national effort to
protest the federal government's ban on the use of marijuana for medical
reasons. Rally organizer Tom Angell, 21, said the event was delayed one day
because of the storm, but was scheduled to coincide with about 50 other
similar rallies in cities across the nation. Members of Americans for Safe
Access gathered outside the JFK Federal Building and demanded that the
government stop closing down medical dispensaries and punishing sick
patients for using cannabis.
