NOT FIRST OR LAST VICTIM

It saddens and angers me that another innocent victim has lost her life as a
result of our government's so-called war on drugs ("Girl shot at DEA
stakeout is dead," Wednesday).

The war apparently cannot be won. Cocaine is 60 percent cheaper than it was
15 years ago and just as abundant, if not more. Marijuana and most other
illegal drugs seem to be easily available.

I understand that with any war there are casualties. I just have a hard time
accepting that a child has to be one. She is not the first and likely not
the last.
