EX-PRISON COUNSELOR SENTENCED IN DRUG RING
A former counselor at Bland Correctional Center was sentenced to four
months of probation in connection with her involvement in a marijuana ring
that ran out of the prison.
Victoria Lynn Hairston, 48, of Bluefield had pleaded guilty to conspiracy
with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to launder money.
Hairston was charged in connection with helping former DEA informant
Michael Fulcher run a marijuana ring out of the jail. She helped Fulcher
bring marijuana into the jail, federal authorities alleged.
Fulcher was sentenced to seven years in connection with running the ring.
