IF PLODI IS RIGHT, WHY IS JAMAICA CROWDED?
Editor:
Thanks to letter writer Poldi Meindl for sharing the "fact" that "a man who
smokes marijuana will not be able to have offspring" (Marijuana is more than
just a poison, February 16).
This explains why the Rastafarians are dying off in Jamaica and why there
are so few children in India, Costa Rica and China, cultures that have
smoked and cooked with cannabis for generations.
But seriously and speaking from experience, cannabis, even in large
quantities, is not a form of birth control. Do not try that at home kids.
Regarding Meindl's belief that "the Minister of Health has a mandate to
maintain the health of the people, and therefore ought to readily forbid the
promotion and growing, trafficking and human consumption of marijuana in
Canada:" should the minister not also prohibit fast food and television?
Sloth and obesity kill almost as many Canadians as tobacco. No one has ever
died from consuming too much cannabis.
If you still support cannabis prohibition you are not "standing on guard"
for Canada, you are standing on guard for pharmaceuticals, alcohol,
organized crime and police unions.
