JESUS CAN HEAL ANY AFFLICTION IF HE CHOOSES TO DO SO
Re: Christianity is hardly the only solution to drug abuse, Feb. 7.
I find it sad that the Citizen publishes so many letters belittling
Christianity and so few letters in defence of the fundamental teachings of
biblical Christianity, not the watered-down version.
The three Feb. 7 letter-writers are typical of those who make unproven
statements because of something they (albeit sincerely) disagree with.
That is unlike letter-writer Chuck Runolfson ('Jesus factor' is the key to
successful drug programs, Feb. 3), who has the proof to back up what he said
about the successes of Christian drug-treatment programs.
I believe that some other methods of treating drug abuse work, but at what
cost and length of time of treatment, and how long does the cure last? There
is historical proof that Jesus healed large numbers of people of many
diseases and afflictions. Does it not make sense that He can heal any
affliction today if He chooses to do so?
He will forgive and heal the sin-sick soul too, if there is true repentance
and faith in Him for salvation.
Millions can testify that they found that Jesus was the only real answer to
their most pressing problems. How amazing His grace is.
