KEEP POLICE UNHAPPY
To the editor:
Re: "24-hour stores downtown too convenient for dealers," Feb. 12.
A cautionary tale, indeed. Thanks for this disturbing story of police
officers pushing for yet another reduction in our freedom to make it easier
for them to fight crime.
We must be careful to ensure that our police officers remain unhappy. As
Orson Welles said, "Only in a police state is the job of a policeman easy."
