PRISON OVERCROWDING

I understand from local news sources that there is a problem or a perceived
problem on the part of some inmates with prison overcrowding in Charleston.

I have a simple solution: Do not go to prison in the first place. If you
are already there and become eligible for release, do not go back. Do not
rape, rob, sell drugs or kill anyone to be sent back. Become a contributing
member of society. Get a job, pay taxes, and go to church like the majority
of the general population on the outside.

My understanding of life in prison is that you have a roof over your head,
clothes to wear, and food to eat. My husband is a physician and has treated
some of you in the emergency room when you have required medical attention,
so I am assuming you also have adequate medical care. Therefore, you have
more than some law-abiding citizens of our state, so I would not complain
too much. Prison is not supposed to be more comfortable for you than life
is for socio-economically less fortunate people who have committed no crime.
