THE FIX IS STILL IN, SAY MOVIE-GOERS

The message is clearly getting out to Greater Victorians. Fix: The Story of
an Addicted City, Nettie Wild's 92-minute documentary about the ills of
drug addicts on Vancouver's Downtown East Side, proved so popular in its
week-long run at the Odeon Theatre that it has been held over until March 13.

In fact, the film was the Victoria theatre's top-grossing movie last
weekend, outdrawing such Oscar-nominated films as The Pianist and The Quiet
American.

Not only has the film itself attracted movie-goers in droves, the
discussion forums taking place after the showings have also proven popular.

On Monday and Tuesday, traditionally two of the slower nights for the
theatre, healthy crowds kept producer-director Wild and a series of guest
speakers busy answering questions right up until the 9:30 p.m. shows were
set to begin.

The film will repeat last week's schedule, starting with a 4 p.m. matinee
today (March 7), with nightly showings at 7:00 and 9:30 and weekend
matinees at 1:30 and 4 p.m. Forums follow all afternoon and 7 p.m. showings.
