COURAGE LACKING TO DEAL WITH THE CURSE OF ADDICTION
In Peter McKnight's criticism of Dr. Colin Mangham's critical
analysis of the evaluations done on Insite, the drug injection site
in operation in Vancouver, he attacks the Journal of Global Drug
Policy and Practice, claiming that it is a "non-peer-reviewed website."
As the editors of this professional journal, we wish to set the
record straight. The Journal of Global Drug Policy and Practice, a
joint effort of the Institute on Global Drug Policy and the
International Scientific and Medical Forum on Drug Abuse, is an
international, open access, peer-reviewed, online journal with the
goal of bridging the information gap on drug policy issues between
the medical/scientific community, policy-makers and the concerned lay public.
The Journal's editorial board is composed of respected physicians,
researchers and policy experts from around the world.
Mangham's article was submitted to the Journal and peer-reviewed
under the standard of guidelines followed by most professional journals.
