Dear MAP,
I've been saying for some time now that MAP/DrugSense is the glue that
holds the reform community together. It's not just news, but so much
more. It's the grass roots activism of the state Drug Policy Forums
and listserves. It's the community of the chatroom. It's the
camaraderie of dedicated volunteers from all over the world. It's many
dozens of great LTE writers whose devotion has helped change public
opinion towards reform. It's the reform websites DrugSense generously
hosts.
MAP/DrugSense was one of my first stops when I got on the web and
started looking for drug policy reform resources back in 1997. It's
hard to believe 6 years have passed and 100,000 articles archived! And
those articles tell a tale of how dedicated volunteers really can make
a difference.
Congratulations MAP/DrugSense! Thanks to everyone who makes
MAP/DrugSense so essential that it truly is the glue that holds this
movement together and proves the power of grassroots activism. We will
win, and we will win because of the invaluable role MAP/DrugSense and
all the great volunteers have played in this struggle to get the truth
out.
