To the friends and supporters of MAP, the readers of DrugNews, the writers,
journalists, and especially to the Prohibitionists involved in this ongoing
discussion about our War On (some) Drugs:

In 1997 I first heard the name Esequiel Hernandez. Zeke's story
angered me. When I get mad I get educated.

I became a volunteer for MAP in 1998 after becoming educated and
learning about too many deaths like Zeke's. I was employed at the time
by a man who was one of the leading industrial hemp advocates in the
country, William Conde. I watched the WO(s)D destroy Mr. Conde's
business and along with it one of the best jobs I have ever had.

I wish to thank MAP/DrugSense for opening my eyes to what is, in many
of our minds, the greatest threat to domestic security our nation has
ever faced. MAP is, and has been, a lightning rod for activists
against Prohibition. We have become a force that is definitely stuck
in the craw of the drug warrior buzzards.

When the dust is settled and our victory against this second wave of
prohibition is complete history may or may not recognize us for what
we have accomplished. For what we have accomplished is indeed no small
feat. Our site at MAP is a shining prototype for any movement
organizing via the wwweb.

My extreme gratitude and thanks go to Richard Lake, Matt Elrod, Mark
Greer, Jo-D Harrison and the many other "leaders" who have encouraged
and shepherded so many of us and utilized our vast array of skills to
create this awesome archive. There are too many names to thank all of
you editors,

I look forward to celebration at some future (not too distant I hope)
date with all of y'all.

In memory of Peter McWilliams,

Thanks MAPsters.
