BREAK THE CYCLE OF ERROR

I Wish to thank Carl Wagner (Mail, March 10) for his excellent letter
discussing the follies of drug prohibition. As an American, I can tell you
that the US led war on drugs is a failure.

Our prisons system is the largest in the world. Corruption of our law
enforcement and political leaders grows with each passing day.

All this as our drug problem continues to worsen.

The majority of Americans are against our current drug policies, especially
that of marijuana prohibition.

Of course, as you well know, the US government seems to care more about
special interests than it does about its people and doing what is right.

Alas, the prison-state and our problems continue to grow.

I hope that you in the UK are able to break away from this cycle of failure.
