KEEP DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AWAY FROM KIDS
In response to Mr. William Bruinsma's letter on March 16, he needs to know
that the state of California's Health and Safety Code 11364.5 allows drug
paraphernalia to be sold with some restrictions. The state and federal
government have different laws concerning drug paraphernalia. Another state
law that contradicts federal law is California's Proposition 215, which
allows medical marijuana.
The Oceanside Planning Commission showed great leadership in wanting to
regulate these head shops. It will protect our youth from the pro-drug
messages these businesses promote.
