MARIJUANA IS HARMFUL

RE: "WHAT do we expect from the law?" by Mindelle Jacobs, April 6.

Jacobs's claim that no one has died from marijuana is a specious claim.
Studies clearly indicate that regular marijuana users are at a higher risk
of lung cancer than tobacco smokers. Sucking on a hand-rolled unfiltered
weed that produces a thick tar in the deepest part of the lungs, and then
purposely holding it there along with its 280 or so unknown properties and
carcinogens shouldn't surprise anyone. Nor does Jacobs's claim address the
real addictive qualities that the high THC content of marijuana today
presents versus when Jacobs was a teenager.
