DESPITE POLICE EFFORTS, 'DRUGS ARE HERE TO STAY'

I would like to applaud the efforts of the Vancouver police to try to
restore order to the insane drug circus that the eastside of the downtown
core has become. It is a shame that the Cope-dominated city council has
decided this is a perfectly acceptable state of affairs and that three
months from now when the police funding is exhausted it will be back to
business as usual for crack dealers and other hard-core criminals.

Mayor Larry Campbell was elected on the promise that some sort of order
would be restored to this neighbourhood. We suffered from years of neglect
from the NPA and now we have more of the same from Cope.
